PALMA City Council was yesterday accused of failing to keep the city clean.
According to opposition PSOE socialist party councillors, the City Hall's cleaning campaign is all spin.
It's just a big publicity campaign which provides few results, councillor María Rosa Marqués said. She also claimed that, despite the new drive to keep the city clean which was launched over a year ago, less than 15 percent of the cleaning routes are covered. It also appears that Emaya, the municipal water board responsible for keeping the capital clean, has the same size work force as ten years ago, despite the city's population having grown by 80'000 over the past decade.
