Madrid.—The net debt owed by Spanish banks to the European Central Bank fell in September to the lowest level for 18 months, data from the Bank of Spain showed yesterday.
Net debt to the ECB totalled €241.1 billion in September, a 36-percent drop from the level 12 months ago, the Bank of Spain said, a sign that Spanish banks were finding it easier to raise funds on the debt market.
