The city council said their Bicipalma service will continue to rent bicycles to teenagers but they will have to pay for their own crash helmets.
Palma.—A new traffic law approved last week by Palma city council states that bike users aged 16 to 18 will have to wear a safety helmet when using bikes from the city council company but transport councillor Gabriel Vallero said yesterday they will have to provide it themselves despite not knowing for sure when the new law would come into practice. Vallero added that Bicipalma bosses will be informing their teenage customers and their parents about the new statutes. The councillor also took the chance to point out the growing number of users of the service, even though the service is no longer free.
