The Balearics is among the regions in the EU where most jobs have been "destroyed" because of the recession, a report by Eurostat revealed yesterday.
Palma.—Between 2008 and 2011, employment figures for citizens aged 20 to 64 have dropped in over 75% of the countries in the European Union. On the list of regions with greatest losses, the Balearics is placed in eighth position with a -8.2% employment rate.
The list is topped by Yuzhen in Bulgaria, followed by the Community of Valencia.
Border, Midland and Western Ireland with -9.2% came next followed by Murcia.
