BALEARIC conservationist group GOB called on the Council of Majorca yesterday to produce a Transport feasibility survey on access roads to Palma, claiming that it is an essential step before making any decision about the construction of the hotly debated second ringroad around the capital.
GOB pointed out that in the Highways Agreement which the Council approved in April this year, such a study was highlighted as being a pre-requisite of the ringroad. GOB said that common sense should prevail - the Council would be unwise to embark on a major infrastructure project if it proved unnecessary, particularly as there is still the option of Alernative Zero, that of not building the second ringroad at all.
