George Tunnell was once the Director of the British Council in Palma for four years and yesterday said that the government’s trilingual teaching programme can not be introduced in a rush.
Palma.—Tunnell, who has lived permanently in Majorca since 2001 but prior to that worked for the British Council all over the world, said yesterday that some countries have been using a trilingual teaching method since the last century and questioned why, considering the idea has been discussed here in the Balearics for the past 20 years, "nothing has been done to prepare teachers, students and parents for trilingual teaching?"
