THE Balearic marine industry received a major boost to its reputation when it went on show at the prestigious Salon Nautico de Monaco.
The Monte Carlo-based event is one of the most important in the European nautical calendar and it gave officials the chance to promote the services on offer in the Balearics.
Highlight of the event was a special day to promote the marine and tourist industry in the Balearics, which proved to be a great success.
Representing the region was vice-president of Balearic Ports Manuel Patino, director general Bartomeu Calafell, chamber of commerce president Joan Gual and Mateu Ginard of the port authority.
The Balearic government is now preparing for the International Boat Show in Genova, Italy, which runs from October 4-12. It is confident of repeating the success of Monaco and ensuring more good news for the region's marine industry.
