THE UK-based crime-fighting charity organisation Crimestoppers and the Serious Organised Crime Agency yesterday issued a fresh appeal for help from British expatriates and holiday makers in catching ten of Britain's most wanted men known to be on the run here in Spain.
The wanted mens' crimes range from drug trafficking and robbery to serious child sex offences and Crimestoppers has been running an ongoing operation to catch British criminals in Spain since October 2006 when it first launched Operation Captura.
Over the past three years, the highly successful multi-agency operation has led to the arrest of 23 criminals wanted for various serious offences and many are now serving long prison sentences in the UK.
Crimestoppers and SOCA work extremely closely with the British Embassy staff in Madrid, the British consulates around the country and the Spanish law enforcement agencies as part of the operation.
