Underground rivers on Majorca are over half full, the best levels in recent years

STAFF REPORTER
AQUIFERS, or underground rivers on Majorca, are at 51 percent of capacity, said the regional Environment ministry yesterday, meaning water levels are 6 decimal points higher than they were during August last year and the highest for the last seven years.

The Director General of Water Resources Isidre Canyelles said yesterday that he is “very happy with the current levels on Majorca.” Furthermore, he explained that because water levels being relatively high, the tendency for saline content to rise during the summer months in the water - especially at Pont d'Inca and sa Vileta and other spots - is less pronounced.
