New and unique private jet service from UK to Majorca is about to take off

PALMA

LAST November, due to the lack of scheduled flights over the winter to the island, leading British business man and Majorca home owner Clive Jackson came up with the idea of creating a new, unique and affordable private jet service for discerning travellers to Palma.

His idea was first published in the Bulletin and the response was so great that flyingmallorca.com is now in the final phase of preparation before actually taking off.

His idea is to bring private jet travel “within reach” of travellers and offer a viable alternative to flying on budget airlines with “like minded” passengers sharing jets and the cost. “All of this is designed to bring luxury and bespoke travel within reach for many more people without the commitment of buying block hours or having the cost of chartering their own plane every time they travel,” explains Clive Jackson who has also had a good response from a number of the island's five star hotels also concerned about the lack of flights operating between Palma and the UK last winter.

Flight connections this winter are going to be better but Jackson, who runs one of the UK's leading digital marketing agencies, has already been contacted by a couple of hundred interested potential clients and is now about to hold a series of focus groups with those who have expressed an interest in the UK and here in Majorca to discuss the unique concept further.

A website has been running since the end of last year for people who wish to express an interest in the service and very shortly a working website is going to be available in English, Spanish and German. Jackson and his team which has over 25 years of experience in the private aviation and business travel sectors are also looking to recruit people from those interested to participate in a closed user trial period as well as the focus groups.

Jackson says that he has arranged a robust network of aircraft operators to service the demand. He is also in talks with owners of private jets who wish to perhaps generate some income from their aircraft when not in their own use.

FLEXIBLE
Jackson's idea is to pool travellers wishing to fly to Majorca on a private jet on the same dates together at their nearest airport and aims to provide access to private jets from as low as 745 pounds per seat.

He is also prepared to operate to other destinations and offer a flexible service for business people who perhaps need to fly down to Palma but then, a few days later, travel on to another European destination, hence the website is going to eventually be operating in Spanish and German.
