PALMA
THE Balearic Transport ministry is to set up a special Commission assigned to increasing the number of air routes to Palma to make it easier for a wider tourist and business market to reach the Balearics.
The Minister for Transport, Gabriel Vicenç and his team have been working for months in collaboration with the Majorcan Chamber of Commerce, the regional Ministry for Tourism and the Spanish Airports Authority (AENA) to achieve this end. Vicens said the strategy will mean that there will be a much greater selection of destinations for residents and tourists, and the interests of commercial air freight will be served as well. He said that the interest that the Airports Authority has shown in the programme is key to its success.
