Father wants truth about his son's death

Palma.—It has been nearly three weeks since 19-year-old Tom Ousby fell nine floors to his death at the Hotel Atlantic in Magalluf but his family are still waiting to find out how and why he died.

Yesterday, his father John, told the Bulletin that “he was a text book son.” Jon's brother is currently on the island trying to push for a full investigation because they suspect foul play and eye witnesses have apparently corroborated that. “It was totally out of character for Tom and we know that at 6.15am, he was in his apartment which was some 20 minutes walk away from the Hotel Atlantic,” John said yesterday. “Three table legs were also found next to his body which is also odd,” he added.
Tom fell to his death at 7.15am. He was apparently spotted on the fire escape by a hotel employee and told he shouldn't be on there. “But, having looked at the pictures in the papers, his body was found some 30 to 40 metres away from the fire escape so he certainly did not fall from there,” said John.

Paramedics rushed to the four-star hotel and battled for an hour to save the teenager.
But he had suffered catastrophic injuries and was later pronounced dead.
An aspiring model and musician Tom, of Uxbridge, north-west London, had told friends he was promoting bars and boat trips at the Spanish party resort.

He had been in Majorca for several weeks, tweeting in June: ‘Crazy times, haha! It's all good, selling tickets for bar crawls and boat parties.' “He had been away before, in fact he had spent some time in the States with a music producer, he was an aspiring musician and had everything going for him. And he had a great character, he was a top son, the whole package, very reliable and he never got angry. “He's posted some videos of himself playing drums on YouTube and he's had over 95'000 hits,” John added. “We've had so many wonderful tributes, even his old head master who he had not seen for three years wrote a glorious tribute to Tom. “And, what I don't want is for people asking me in two to three years time what happened to Tom and not knowing the answer. “Like any parent, we want closure and we want to know what happened. I have been in touch with Calvia Council and we want to know of any CCTV footage taken at the time in the area either by the council cameras or hotels circuits. “We are desperate, we just want anyone to come forward with any information which can help us piece together what happened to Tom on the morning of 1 August,” John said.

Tom's older brother Lewis, 23, says they have been given practically no information by police and fear the fall is being treated as just “another drunken accident” despite reports Tom had been chased. “He had no drugs in his system, was found with no phone, no shoes, no socks, no ID and that's where the suspicion has come from,” he said. “As a family it's making us pull our hair out. The longer we don't know the more we're going to question it.” A Twitter campaign called #AwarenessForTomOusby has been started and has thousands of followers.
More than £16'000 has been raised to help cover legal costs.
