Palma.The President of the Balearics, Jose Ramon Bauza, yesterday called on the nautical sector to be civil and clean during the annual release of injured turtles which have been cured by biologists at Marineland.
Many of the turtles are hurt by waste dumped in the sea. One of the turtles released weighed 45 kilos and was found by fishermen half dead, trapped in a fishing net of Colonia de Sant Pere. Marineland works all round the year looking after injured turtles.
