FRENCH environmental services company Suez Environnement said yesterday that its Spanish subsidiary Agbar will be the municipal water suppliers in Calvia for the next 50 years.
Suez confirmed that a contract in excess of 980 million euros has been signed enabling Agbar to supply Calvia's 52'000 inhabitants. A spokesman for Suez said that Agbar will be handling the soaring summer demand for water in Calvia, when owing to seasonal visitors, consumption levels can triple.
