ENJOYING excursions through the Llevant nature reserve in Art is going to become much easier, now that the regional Environment ministry has set up 150 signposts and information boards.

The directions include suggestions for new nature trails and the locations of the most advantageous points to appreciate the area's panoramic views.
Environment Minister, Miquel Angel Grimalt, presented the signposting yesterday which is the first of its kind to be set up on Majorca but are already in existence at the Ses Salines park on Ibiza and another on Formentera. “This is the first project of many that we are going to introduce in Majorca's natural spaces,” said Grimalt yesterday.

The directions for the nature trails furthermore include pertinent information on the geography, flora and fauna of the area, as well as where to find mountain refuges, beaches, camp sites and the historic watch towers dotted along the coastline. “What we want to do,” said Grimalt helping to erect one of the posts, “is make the signposting and information boards the same for all the natural parks on the island.” The symbols used on them, he said, are internationalised so that people of all nationalities can understand them.
