THE Guardia Civil investigating the stabbing of a 25-year-old Welshman by five Britons in the early hours of Saturday morning, in Magalluf, yesterday said that they had confiscated 1.200 ecstasies from the suspects' hotel rooms in the resort. The five British holidaymakers were not arrested until the early hours of Sunday morning when an employee at a bar near to where the fight happened recognised the five alleged attackers and called the police. The group did try and give the police the slip but members of Calvia Local Police managed to detain them and recover 53 ecstasies which the suspects had apparently dumped as they tried to run away from the police. What sparked the incident remains to be confirmed; the five Britons were expected to appear before a Palma magistrate yesterday evening, but the Guardia Civil did recover a large knife which they believe was used to stab the Welshman in the thigh. The 25-year-old was rushed to Son Dureta and underwent an emergency operation.
He was discharged yesterday and back at his Magalluf apartment.
He was due to have returned home today.
The police claim to have concluded their investigation and that they are not looking for any other suspects.
