THE Guardia Civil yesterday unveiled its summer security plan with the arrival of an extra 164 officers in Majorca.
The Guardia Civil reinforcements announced yesterday and those unveiled by the National Police on Tuesday mean that there will be over an extra 500 police men and women on patrol across the Balearics this summer. Of the 164 Guardia Civil, 84 are recruits who have chosen the Balearics for some practical training.
The new officers and recruits were welcomed yesterday morning by Balearic Guardia Civil commanders and will remain in active duty in the Balearics until Operation Summer, mounted in co-operation with the National Police, comes to an end of September 30.
