Pollensa.If you live in Puerto Pollensa, you will probably know Ethel! If you ask anyone to describe Ethel, in the first sentence, the word amazing is usually used.
On Sunday morning if you went past the Anglican Church in Puerto Pollensa, you would have heard the congregation singing Happy Birthday To You to celebrate Ethel's 100th Birthday, and during the service Ethel was presented with a bouquet of flowers. After the service friends joined Ethel and her family for tapas and coffee, and the family proudly showed the card from The Queen.
Four generations
Four different generations of her family were present to celebrate the occasion with Ethel's friends.
Typically the celebrations didn't start or end here. The family had held a party the night before, and a beach party was promised for yesterday!
Ethel Bullions was born in Leeds in Yorkshire in 1913.
Ethel worked for Lloyds Bank, became Secretary to the owner of a large engineering firm and eventually worked as Secretary to a Headteacher.
Anyone who knows Ethel will tell you about her passion for travel, her love of swimming and her contribution to the life of the Anglican Church in Puerto Pollensa. She has an enthusiasm for everything.
