ALL of the security forces are involved in a land, sea and air search for a 36-year-old resident of San Agustin who has not been seen since Sunday.
Jaume Oliver Soler, was last seen by his mother, Catalina Soler, at 3.30pm when he went for a drive in his car.
Clearly deeply upset and extremely worried, Jaume Oliver's mother said yesterday; I've got four sons and they all know that they have to tell me when they are going to come late so I don't hang about worrying. And, until now, they have always done so.
I'm convinced my son has not gone missing voluntarily. He's a very good lad.
At the moment he's single and without a job, but I repeat, there's no way he would have gone off on his own accord, Catalina Soler stressed.
Yesterday morning, however, the family received a call from the Guardia Civil reporting that Jaume Oliver's car had been found near the cliffs at La Mola, near Andratx.
The security forces immediately mounted a joint search on land, at sea and from the air involving specialist GEAS Guardia Civil divers and helicopters as well as the Andratx Local Police force and Guardia Civil officers. A number of family members and close friends also joined the search of the cliff tops. According to family sources, ever since he was a child, Jaume Oliver loved the sea and going on excursions along the cliff tops.
But, despite yesterday's exhaustive search of the area, Jaume Oliver's mobile telephone remained out of service and no sign of the missing man had been found.
The calm sea conditions enabled divers to carry out a number of under water searches along the foot of the La Mola cliffs but last night the police had no leads to follow. The search will resume today and the family is calling on the public to help.
