BALEARIC president Jaume Matas yesterday kicked off his two-day official visit to Scotland with a trip to the Dalziel College in Edinburgh where a group of Majorcan students and teachers are on a Balearic government-sponsored language exchange programme. Matas later met the Scottish First Minister Jack McConnell at the new Scottish parliament building before attending a civic reception last night which was attended by the Scottish Education Minister and local dignitaries. Today, Matas, accompanied by the Balearic Minister for Education, Francesc Fiol, will visit another group of Majorcans learning English in Scotland.
