Balearic government spokesperson Rafel Bosch yesterday ruled out the introduction of copayment for national health care in the Balearics.
The idea that the public pay a certain amount for their national health care is being considered by various other debt-laden regional governments, but the Balearics has no intention of following suit, Bosch stressed.
However, he did confirm that the health cent stealth tax will come into force on April 1 with the price of petrol in the Balearics being raised by nearly 5 cents per litre to help raise funds for the financially struggling Ib-Salut national health service.
During their electoral campaign the PP vowed to never introduced the health cent.
