Majorca remains on weather alert

Palma.—It was another wet and wild day in Majorca yesterday and the island will remain on level one, yellow alert for gale force winds and high seas today.Between 7am on Wednesday and 7am yesterday, the 112 emergency service was forced to deploy teams to respond to 30 incidents, most of them relating to objects blown from terraces or roof tops by the gale force winds.

Torrential
The majority of the incidents were in Palma and Calvia where the morning was marked by torrential outbreaks of rain after a night during which it hardly stopped raining.

Today is the final day Majorca will be on alert for gale force winds although it is not going to get much warmer.
The snow line will be around 700 metres but with only a 15 percent chance of rain this morning, from midmorning skies will clear and the sunshine will push through with maximum temperatures of 13ªc and over night lows of 5ºC.

Temperatures will rise by 2ºC tomorrow with highs of around 15ºC and low of 8ºC although the chance of rain tomorrow morning is 35 percent before dropping to five percent in the afternoon.

Sunday should start dry with a 25 percent chance of rain in the afternoon and again, temperatures will rise again with a maximum of around 16ºC.
And that will set the tone for the start of next week which will be milder sunnier and drier.
But for the next few days, it is still going to be a case of wrapping up warm and keeping a close eye on the skies for the odd shower.
