The average pension figure in the Balearics this month stands at 867.70 euros, 3.5% more than during September 2011 when the figure was 837.60. However, pensions in the Balearics remain 8.7% below the national average (950.16 euros), Central Government's Ministry for Employment and Social Security reported yesterday.
But retirement pensions are only part of a benefit system which also covers being permanently incapacitated, widowhood, orphans and other subsidies for underprivileged family members. The average of all these benefits in the Balearics is just 760.97 euros a month, 71 less than the national average of 832.46 euros, the Ministry said.
