Around 200 people, the Majorcan Socialist party (PSM) said yesterday, gathered in Cala Blanca in the municipality of Andratx on Sunday to demand official environmental protection for the cove and for the dunes in Camp de Mar.
Prior to the mass gathering on Sunday, undaunted by the rain, the PSM had handed in objections to Andratx town council over what they claim to be inadequate environmental protection for local coastal areas. The PSM want Cala Blanca to become officially listed as a an area in which no further development can take place and want the dunes ecosystem in Camp de Mar permanently protected.
