The government representative Catalina Cirer, said yesterday that her department had no proof that the Balearics were a target for the Basque separatist group ETA. She was commenting on a recent communique from ETA which said it had warned foreign embassies, travel agencies and airlines of the risks involved in sending tourists to Spain, claiming that it would target tourism. Cirer said that no incidents were expected in the Balearics, but, she made it clear that vigilance would be maintained.
