Pandiani armed and dangerous

Real Mallorca head for Deportivo tomorrow with a Deportivo player hoping to seal victory for Mallorca. Mallorca's star man of the moment Walter “Rifle” Pandiani, who has scored seven goals in the last four games, is on loan to the club from Deportivo, whose coach Irureta is not best pleased about his bosses' decision to allow him to play. Deportivo's former Mallorca striker Albert Luque is unlikely to start against his old club, however, with Javier Irureta set to pair Roy Makaay and Diego Tristan up front. Mallorca coach Gregorio Manzano said yesterday that he believes the team can win and, providing Barca beat league leaders Real Sociedad, will go top of the league. Mallorca have won their last four away games and are hungry for their fifth. Manzano knows Deportivo are going to be a tough challenge to beat “they're a compact team, with one of the best squads in the league, but if we go out there with our eyes open and fully focused we're good enough for victory, if we're asleep, they'll run all over us.” With regards to the fuss over Pandiani, Manzano said he will play ”I haven't been instructed otherwise,” he said. Irureta made it clear yesterday that Pandiani should not be playing and better not score, Pandiani has other ideas however.
