The Pye family from Nottingham arrived in Majorca in July with a Channel 4 film crew and a budget to 415'000 euros to find their dream home. The family of auctioneers were to be the stars of the top property programme Place to the Sun and researchers at Channel 4 had told them that for under 415'000 euros they would be hard pushed to find the three bedroom country home with garden and swimming pool in Majorca, so they knew some serious house hunting was called for. We were told by the researchers that it was almost impossible to purchase a dream home on the north within our budget, but Kensington Properties International, PFD Savills, who have recently opened their office, were fantastic. We were the first people ever to actually buy on this show and the property we bought was the Top Property of the programme, said Mr and Mrs Pye. We are very happy with our new home, they added. When we first arrived on the island we were frustrated as property prices have increased so much since we were here five years ago, they added. But, with the Channel 4 camera crew filming their every move, the Pye family managed to find their dream home on the Pollensa countryside which met all their requirements and their budget. We are over the moon, the Pyes said. It will be wonderful for our children and grand children to enjoy, said Mrs Pye, and for my husband and I to enjoy for holidays and weekends when we need a break from Nottingham and want some sunshine. The Majorca shoot also proved a success for Channel 4 as it was the first time a property has actually been found and bought on one of the programmes.
