A teenage Scotsman from Edinburgh drowned in a hotel pool early yesterday morning. 18-year-old James Stewart Bratt was on holiday with family and friends in the resort of Cala Mandia near Manacor, and had apparently been out with the group of mates on Wednesday night. The lads got back to their accommodation, the Hotel Club Reina, at around 1.45 am and headed for the pool area. What police have yet to confirm is whether Bratt decided to go for a swim of fell in the pool by accident, but his body was found floating in the pool shortly after they returned to the hotel. The 112 emergency centre was called and the Local Police were sent to the scene immediately - they arrived within three minutes - found the victim by the side of the pool and started to administer mouth-to-mouth while the ambulance came. The police battled for 20 minutes, until the ambulance arrived and whisked the young man off to hospital with para-medics trying to resuscitate the Scotsman all the way, but sadly in vain.
