Spanish Prime Minister, José María Aznar, today starts his summer holidays in Minorca. This will be the second consecutive summer that Aznar and his family have chosen the island for their summer break. This year however, they will be staying at a different private estate to last year. Aznar and his family will be staying on a rural estate called Son Camaro which is owned by John Stott and Ann Stobart Rosemary from England and for the next month will be 130 hectares of top security. The estate is between Ferreries and Es Migjorn Gran, but the English couple rarely visit the island. However, the estate met all the security requisites and boasts all the necessary facilities such as a swimming pool, plenty of land for the family and accommodation for security personnel. But the property has maintained a very rural flavour and only recently electricity company GESA had to boost the power supply to the estate ahead of the prime Minister's visit. Over the next few weeks, Aznar and his family will enjoy a few rounds of golf, some sailing and eating out at the island's top restaurants. Aznar will also be flying to Palma twice by helicopter for the traditional summer meetings with King Juan Carlos at Marivent Palace - the first of which is on Monday.
