A middle-aged English woman was recovering in Son Dureta hospital last night after she was stabbed and robbed in Sa Coma. She was out for an early evening stroll with another English lady in Sa Coma Caliente. The two had been walking down a back lane and had just turned the corner when one of them felt a blow to the neck, they told local British resident Steve Gerard. They tuned round to see a scruffy looking, unshaven man in a dark blue bomber jacket carrying a red rucksack running away. They told Gerard that is was only then that the unhurt lady realised that her friend was bleeding severely at the back, just above the waist. They turned up in our garden asking for help as it was the first house they came to, said Gerard. I drove them to the local Insalut health centre where the patient was given first aid. At the same time my wife called the police who met us at the doctor's and took our particulars. I then drove them to Son Dureta hospital in Palma at the first aid doctor's instructions.
