Real Mallorca's B team scraped past Second Division giant-killers AD Ceuta on penalities in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night. As far as coach Kresic is concerned Mallorca, after 120 minutes, did what they had to and now the focus is on tomorrow night's clash with Valencia. Boosted by last week's 4-1 defeat of Deportivo, Kresic is still a man on mission. He rested all of Mallorca's key players for the Ceuta game and is more than prepared to pick members of the team who played on Wednesday night. They can't cry about being tired, despite having played 120 minutes, I am waiting for them to recover and I've got those who I left at home, Sergio Kresic said yesterday. Quite simply, we haven't got time to winge, we've got to get on with dealing with Valencia. Valencia have domestic troubles to deal with, apart from a Mallorca which is firing on all cylinders. A number of Valencia players leapt to the defence of underfire Valencia coach Rafa Benitez this week following the side's first defeat of the season against Real Sociedad. We are with the trainer until we die, said Juan Sanchez. The whole team has trusted him since the first day he arrived here. Despite incurring only one loss in the league since taking over in the summer, Benitez has been criticised for Valencia's unexciting style of play. The team have scored only 14 goals in 14 games and have chalked up the majority of their victories with very close wins. But Sanchez claimed that everyone at the club was happy with the boss and has hit out at the critics who continue to lambast the team's tactics. At every club there are times when the players claim that the team is not playing well, but these incidents are very small and do not affect performances on the pitch, he continued. None of the players here have done anything to indicate that we are unhappy with the coach. Every day in training I see how good Benitez is and what he wants to achieve here. Every coach has a different idea of what he wants from the team and the current coach has only been here three months. I think that you will only be able to truly judge him at the end of the season when everyone will be able to see what he has achieved. Always when players do not play they state their unhappiness, but nobody here has said very much in public and that is how it should stay. The main thing is that we must keep any problems in the dressing room and make sure that nothing happens that will harm the team or the club. We have lost only one match in 14 and that is not a bad record. But we have lost our last game and now we must look to the next game and put that defeat behind us. We will look at the mistakes we made and make sure they do not happen again.
