the Balearic government was given the thumbs down in a popularity survey which they themselves ordered and paid for. Just under 50 percent of the 1'600 people polled conducted during the summer months said that they were pleased with the performance of the five-party coalition which has now been in power for two years. The main complaints were housing, roads and public transport. Forty eight percent said that globally the local government was doing a good job, 21.3 percent thought the exact reverse and 17.4 didn't care. But when it came to their thoughts on the local government's housing policies 53 percent said that they did not agree with plans to introduce a complete building freeze. Sixteen percent of those polled said that they were not pleased with the state of the roads and a further 15 percent said that they were concerned about crime.
