President of the Spanish Institute for Hotel Quality, Eduardo Gamero, said yesterday that the Spanish holiday accommodation sector is not noticing any significant fall in bookings. The former Balearic Minister for Tourism expressed his confidence that reservations will maintain their stability despite events in the United States. Gamero did admit that it is still too early to make any sensible comments about how the tourism market will respond under the present circumstances. What we are seeing, Gamero said is little change in bookings and we are convinced we can meet the same figures as last year, he added. There were warnings on Tuesday that next month, bookings will fall by 25 per cent.
