Australian Prime Minister John Howard yesterday vowed that his government would not give up the scent in the Chase for Skase. Howard stressed that the government would not be put off by the photographs published in the Bulletin this week they do not alter our view at all, Howard said. I think Australians remain collectively outraged about what was allowed to happen some years ago in relation to Christopher Skase and we will continue to pursue him. The Federal Justice Minister, Chris Ellison, accused Skase's Palma lawyer, Antoni Coll, of misrepresenting the position of the Spanish authorities. I think the Spanish authorities have said they have had a look at Skase's condition and were postponing the deportation order for a period of three months and we want to have further examinations within that three month period.
