Summer of art and music in Majorca

The Isladencanta festival is almost upon us, with a multitude of acts confirmed to play on the 6th, 7th and 8th of July at Esporles. The festival will combine all types of music, from acoustic singers to talented DJs and electronic artists from all over the world. There will also be a strong focus on arts and crafts, with various stalls displaying the works of local artists. There are a variety of side acts including Casa Del Cactus who will be giving dance performances, and Sonic Comix, including 10 of the most important comic drawers in the world. Headlining this year's festival are The Thievery Corporation, Le Hammond Inferno, Stereolab, Goldfrapp, David Holmes, Hefner, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Six By Seven. The Thievery Corporation are playing on the opening night, they are made up of two DJs, Eric Hilton and Rob Garza. The Corporation have gained critical acclaim from many magazines; Urb raves “Aptly named, this studio duo uses the sampler as a weapon, holding hostage the sly, secret sounds of action movies, MCs and ambient tracks.”
