Film stars and Majorca residents Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones spent yesterday promoting Douglas' Cultural Centre, Costa Nord, in Valdemossa. The couple have been holidaying here for the past few weeks and are due to fly out to Cannes tomorrow to attend the film festival. Catherine Zeta Jones was quoted in a British paper the Sunday Express as saying that she was angry with the tourist buses passing outside her home on the island. There were also reports that holiday reps in resorts were offering special trips to Valdemossa with a detour to the outskirts of the couple's huge estate. However yesterday, when questioned by the Bulletin about this situation, Douglas said that it was no problem followed by Zeta Jones saying that that's just the way it is. Douglas and Zeta Jones said that their son Dylan was having a wonderful time here on the island. Michael said that his son loved the wind and spent hours watching the palm trees sway back and forth in the garden. Douglas also commented that although Dylan looked a lot like Catherine, he had his grandfather's famous chin. Catherine told the Bulletin that Dylan was very at home in Majorca, loving Spanish food such as paella and jamon. The couple seemed happy and relaxed at their cultural centre, promoting the series of concerts and exhibitions which will be available in the upcoming season. The acts performing are diverse and popular, including the legendary Van Morrison and acts such as the Golden Gospel Singers and Compay Segundo. Michael Douglas said that he was very proud to have Van Morrison at his centre and that it is every actor's fantasy to be a musician but also that every musician wants to be an actor!
