l ten Africans were arrested in a police operation which also netted more than half a kilo of cocaine and the recovery of stolen goods, found in a search of several flats. The operation was carried out in the early hours of yesterday morning in Palma and Arenal. The National Police had been following the tracks of the gang, which operated chiefly in Arenal, Cala Mayor and Calvia for several weeks. The suspects arrested, mainly from Guinea and Nigeria, were alleged to sell cocaine by the gram and police sources say that they had a large number of regular customers. The search warrants were issued by the Palma court and enabled the police to enter various flats in Palma, where most of the arrests took place. They had all entered Majorca legally through Ceuta. Police say that they have also confiscated various cars which the gang allegedly used for deliveries, cash believed to proceed from the sale of drugs and mobile phones used for communications to avoid the risk of wire taps.
