Palma prostitutes could be paid by the local government to leave their profession. The new scheme was announced yesterday and a local government source said any one of the 900 women presently working the streets will be offered financial incentives to give-up their present job and find something more suitable. Many of the prostitutes in Palma are immigrants from Africa and South America. They work the streets around the Plaza San Antonio.
