“Top luxury” skase house up for sale

It appears that the new home into which Christopher Skase and his family moved in September has been up for sale for the past three months. News comes just 24 hours after a Palma High Court ruled in favour of his expulsion from Spain. The renovated rural property just outside Andratx has been on the market for 260 million pesetas, around a cool one million pounds and the property boasts terraces and a swimming pool. The property described as “top luxury” includes four suites and a 40 square metre lounge and has been built on an area of 300 square metres. The house is surrounded by a botanical garden and a plantation of rare palm trees. Skase's former home, La Noria, where he lived for nearly ten years and outside which he faced the world's media after his release from hospital and victory over the Australian government, has been taken over by the neighbouring hotel and the work on redeveloping the land was already well advanced last summer. Spanish government authorities in Palma will this week be awaiting official notification of the Palma High Court's expulsion ruling before the expulsion process can get underway. Last October the Australian Minister for Justice, Amanda Vanstone, warned “the Australian government stands ready to seek extradition of Mr Skase from a country other than Spain, should that be possible in the future.
