The Duke and Duchess of Palma, the Infanta Cristina and her husband Iñaki Urdangarin, are expecting their second child, the Spanish royal household announced yesterday. Well wishers sent messages of congratulations from Palma yesterday and it was only a few weeks ago that the Duke and Duchess of Palma's first son, Juan Valentin, who was born last September, stole the show when he appeared with his parents at the Princess Sofia sailing regatta in Palma. It was the King's second grandchild who adorned the front pages across Spain with the royals left looking on. The child will be the King and Queen's fourth grandchild. While the Duke and Duchess of Palma are expecting their second child in November, the Infanta Elena and her husband are expecting their second child in September. This summer will be the first time the whole Spanish royal family, including both of the King and Queen's grandchildren, will have spent their annual summer holiday all together in Majorca and the photographers will have to allow extra space when taking the official shots at Marivent Palace to allow for the latest arrivals. While both the Infantas are keen sailors who have raced in previous King's Cup regattas in Palma, they will not be competing this summer. However they will be able to watch the racing and other members of the royal family compete from the comfort of the new royal yacht which is on its way.
