Jaume Matas's former government came under fresh attack yesterday from Balearic Chief Minister Francesc Antich, who accused the former government of political espionage by accessing information about developments via the PSOE Socialist Party's e-mail system. The PP have denied the claims, blaming it on a technical fault as explained by the engineers. Ortea slammed the claims that the PP spied on the socialist Development Commission for obvious political and economic gains as ridiculous and warned that once the case is closed, he will call for Antich's resignation. Ortea also warned the chief minister that the PP is considering suing him on the grounds that he has slandered Jaume Matas. Matas in turn has rigorously denied the accusation from the left-wing coalition and his successor Ortea has an immediate political battle on his hands which has been raging for the past few months and looks set to continue.
