Palmas's parking problem is back on the agenda with delivery companies calling for the city council to take action in order to make their lives easier. The parking problems are making loading and off-loading increasingly difficult in Palma, the President of the Association of Distribution Companies, Bartolomé Servera, said yesterday. Yesterday 70 of the 84 association member companies met for talks and all agreed that operating is becoming increasingly difficult because of the loading hours which have been introduced. Some 1'200 lorries are involved in delivery services in the Balearics but it is becoming near impossible to operate in the centre of Palma and the busy tourist resorts. The loading areas are insufficient, badly located and more often than not, have cars parked in them. The introduction of the VAP streets with preferential treatment have also complicated operations for delivery services.
