Binissalem plans a new route taking in its old wine cellars

The Binissalem council plans to set up a museum dedicated to wine and has asked the University to plan an itinerary taking in some of the most emblematic wine cellars which can be visited thanks to an agreement which will be signed with the owners. The visit will end at Ca'n Gelabert, where local produce will be sold and where there will be information on the new technologies in wine making. This is a much more ambitious plan than the original scheme, which was to set up a museum in one of the wine cellars. Now the council is seeking finance, and it invited agriculture minister Joan Mayol to visit some of the wine cellars which will be included in the route. Mayor Salvador Canoves and councillor Joan Lladó acted as guides. The route takes in Can Beltran, Can Gaspar, Can Fumat and Can Sabater.
