Shopping centres across Mallorca will be open to the public on Sunday, 30th November, as confirmed by the Balearic Government. This opening corresponds to one of the authorized trading days for the current year, a measure designed to meet the growing consumer demand during the year's most significant discount season.

Specifically, major shopping centres in Palma, including El Corte Ingles, Porto Pi, Fan Mallorca Shopping, will keep their doors open, aswell as Alcampo and Mallorca Fashion Outlet in Marratxi. allowing shoppers to take advantage of numerous Black Friday promotions throughout an extended weekend. This strategy reflects the retail sector's growing trend of capitalising on anticipated sales and massive public turnout during this period.

Traditionally, Black Friday is celebrated on the Friday following the American Thanksgiving holiday, which falls on 28th November 2025. However, in Spain, particularly in the Balearics, the practice of extending this campaign over several days has become firmly established, spanning the entire weekend through to Cyber Monday, which will be 1st December 2025.

Extended campaign: Black Friday, weekend and Cyber Monday

Black Friday has transcended its original concept as a one-day event. Offers and promotions associated with this shopping phenomenon typically span several consecutive days. In many cases, it begins days before Friday and extends until the following Monday, known as Cyber Monday, which primarily focuses on e-commerce discounts.

This trend is also evident in Mallorca, where businesses take advantage of the Sunday opening to maintain active promotional campaigns and attract a broader audience. Consequently, consumers aren't limited to shopping on Friday afternoon but have an entire weekend to find deals on technology, fashion, electronics and other products.

Online retailers also extend their window of offers, enabling shoppers to choose comfortably from their homes between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, avoiding the crowds typically associated with in-store shopping.
