Every year Mallorca continues to position itself as a favourite destination for those seeking privacy, cultural exploration and authenticity in Spain. Its most emblematic spot was once again the centre of attention after welcoming a prominent couple, Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva, thrilling fans of exclusive tourism and lovers of Mediterranean nature alike.

Located in the picturesque area of Formentor, this hotel has just undergone one of the most ambitious renovations seen in the Balearics in recent years. After more than 100 years as a retreat for personalities and intellectuals, from world leaders such as Churchill to Hollywood legends such as Audrey Hepburn, the establishment reopened last year under the management of Four Seasons with a revitalised image, maintaining its iconic setting of pine trees and stunning views of the Mediterranean.

Not only has the hotel's historic architecture and cultural heritage been restored, but state-of-the-art services have also been added, including a spa, gourmet restaurants and exclusive suites equipped to ensure maximum relaxation. An investment of more than £300 million has resulted in 110 rooms; however, only a portion was available in the initial reopening phase, which has helped to maintain an even more exclusive atmosphere until the full opening, which is scheduled for March 2025.

Formentor beach is an integral part of this magical enclave. Surrounded by lush Mediterranean pine forests, the beach dazzles with the purity of its turquoise waters and the immaculate texture of its sand. Its relative inaccessibility and limited capacity allow for peaceful and exclusive days away from the usual summer hustle and bustle of Spain's beaches.

This spot continues to gain notoriety not only for its scenic beauty, but also because it offers activities such as snorkelling, paddle surfing or simple walks under the shade of the trees. In summer, exclusivity is reinforced by traffic regulations and capacity limits, ensuring both the protection of the natural heritage and a relaxing experience for guests and visitors.

Travelling in privacy and luxury: the trend setting Mallorca
In a context where the search for safe destinations away from mass tourism remains a priority for certain segments, Mallorca is consolidating its position as one of Europe's leading up-and-coming retreats. The Four Seasons Formentor, with rates exceeding £1,200 per night, exemplifies the new paradigm of quiet and sustainable luxury.

The commitment to exclusivity does not mean giving up the local environment: local cuisine, respect for traditional architecture and eco-responsible initiatives all come together in the offering of this reborn hotel. Both its spa and its restaurant services and wellness activities have been designed with the discerning visitor in mind, who is conscious of their surroundings and interested in integrating with Balearic culture.
