I woke up this morning, turned on Sky News and thought to myself, thank goodness I live in Mallorca! This island may have some problems but Britain is in big trouble and I count my lucky stars that I have made Mallorca my home. I say this with a heavy heart; I am a proud Brit and it is such a shame that the country of my birth is in such a state. I think the biggest problem in Britain is poor leadership.
Successive prime ministers have been complete failures and the great British public deserves better. I agree with Sir Jim Ratcliffe when he says that neither Sir Keir Starmer nor Nigel Farage of Reform have what it takes to take tough decisions which are needed at the moment. This may be very controversial but it appears that a Margaret Thatcher Mark 2 is needed. But that is just politics. The royal family also need to get their house in order.
Again, I say this as person who has always supported the monarchy but it is a question of one scandal too many. At this moment Britain needs leadership not another institution which is dogged by scandal. Probably the best solution to overcome the problems faced by Britain at the moment would be a government of national unity involving the best from all the parties.
