The Australian Bianca Censori has given her most candid interview to date in Vanity Fair. Kanye West’s wife has spoken publicly about her alleged relationship crisis with the rapper and the health problems they have both experienced. The Australian explained in the magazine that 2025 was a difficult year for them, but that she always tried to be supportive of her husband: “This year has been like doing CPR for months. I have the love and empathy for him to be able to do that, and I understand that the world doesn’t have it.‘ The designer, now known as “Ye”, suffered a major reputational crisis when he publicly declared himself a ’Nazi' and even marketed T-shirts with a swastika.
The artist is trying to put this period behind him and just a week ago apologised for his behaviour: “One of the difficult aspects of having bipolar disorder type 1 is the moments of disconnection, many of which I still don’t remember, that led me to poor judgement and reckless behaviour that often feels like an out-of-body experience. I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and I am committed to accountability, treatment and meaningful change. However, this does not justify what I did. I am not a Nazi or an anti-Semite. I love the Jewish people.”
As detailed by Vanity Fair, last year West entered a rehabilitation clinic in Switzerland encouraged by Censori, who had just received hospital treatment at the Spanish facility of the same programme. Bianca herself recounts her experience of entering the clinic: ‘I needed to work on myself because I had patterns of behaviour that not only hurt me, but also hurt the people around me.’
“I put a lot of pressure on other people to be the reason for my happiness or unhappiness. I blamed other people if I didn’t feel good. It changed my life. How was I a different person? I was very emotionally unstable. And now I can function,” says the artist. ‘Anything you’ve bought me doesn’t compare to how important this was to me,’ the Australian acknowledges.
Bianca’s partner, Ted Lawson, also discusses this difficult time in the magazine: “There were some very chaotic moments over the past year. So the fact that they both sought treatment in different ways has been really helpful and has helped them a lot. And, obviously, with an artist, you want them to regulate themselves, but not so much that they don’t delve deep... that they’re not in their creative flow. So there’s an optimal point there. And they’ve found it.”
Although the interview does not specify the exact location in Spain where Bianca underwent treatment, the couple was seen on several occasions in Mallorca during 2025. In addition, the German media outlet Bild claimed in April that both were staying at The Balance Rehab Clinic, an exclusive wellness centre that costs €150,000 per week. This residential centre, located in Palma, focuses on addiction and mental health treatment and promises its guests ‘recovery, peace, rest and happiness’.
Kanye and Bianca’s romance began in late 2022 and the relationship has always been shrouded in controversy. Their most notorious scandal was on the red carpet at the 2025 Grammy Awards, one year ago, when the Australian appeared completely naked in front of the cameras. Bianca posed in a completely transparent mini dress without underwear, leaving nothing to the imagination, and the artist was accused of being responsible for her outfit. Now the architect is looking to put this exposure behind her and focus on her work as an artist.
