Ed Sheeran enjoyed a pasta lunch in Palma this week just hours before the launch of his new album which is already being tipped for glory. On Thursday he headed to the Mama’s Pepper pizzeria situated in trendy Santa Catalina. Barcelona and Manchester United star, Marcus Rashford, has also been a recent visitor.
Sheeran´s visit stunned customers and staff at the restaurant, who immediately recognised the famous red-haired musician. According to the owners, brothers Giovanni and Achille Tagliamonte, Sheeran arrived with a friend and was friendly and relaxed throughout his visit.
"I went over to his table and chatted with him for a while; he was very friendly. He posed for photos with customers and the whole team," he added. The British singer enjoyed burrata as a starter, pasta with prawns as a main course and finished with a cappuccino. During the conversation, he confessed that he ‘loves Mallorca’ and that this is not his first visit to the island, to which he returns whenever he can. On this occasion, he explained that he is ‘passing through for a few days, before the promotion’ of his new album.
His visit to Palma coincided with the release today of his eighth studio album: PLAY. This new work marks the beginning of a new musical saga for the British singer, after closing his emblematic five-album series with mathematical symbols (+, x, ÷, =, -). With this new work, Sheeran enters a more experimental and melodic phase, and fans have already begun to celebrate this new chapter in his career.
