TV host Jeremy Clarkson is said to be pondering a move abroad "to escape Britain" with its "broken economy." However, I doubt that Mallorca will be top of his lists as a place to move to...as a result of a rather humorous incident at the Lluchmajor race-track. Mallorca does remain one of the most popular areas to Britons to retire to.
It was during filming for Top Gear in 2009 that Clarkson and the team headed to Lluchmajor. Clarkson and fellow presenters James May and Richard Hammond were going to film going around the track. During a break in filming Clarkson headed for a portaloo which was quickly barricaded with car tyres by a group of expat jokers!
Clarkson was effectively trapped much to the delight of the small crowd which had gathered. When he finally emerged from the portaloo he was not to pleased.
Infact, in his British newspaper column that weekend he took aim at British expats in Mallorca and their antics.
So no, I doubt that he will be moving to Mallorca anytime soon or even leaving Britain. Our sence of humour might make him see red!
