Puerto Soller sources have told the Bulletin that Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg either owns or rents a rural estate tucked away high in the hills overlooking the Puerto Soller. Apparently access to the property with spectacular views over the port and the bay is extremely difficult and last year it is understood that he bought some special handmade and crafted furniture in Soller, which suggests that he would have a greater interest in the property than if it was just a rental.

What is more, Zuckerberg has become a regular summer visitor to the island on board his mega-yacht Launchpad with its support vessel, Wingman. Valued at 300 million dollars, this impressive vessel is the creation of the exclusive Feadship shipyard in the Netherlands, which delivered it this year. With a registered tonnage exceeding five thousand tons, the Launchpad measures 118 meters in length and can host 26 guests alongside a crew of fifty.

The yacht’s elegant design, featuring a navy blue steel hull and a white aluminum superstructure, is the work of Espen Oeino, a renowned firm in the nautical industry. The onboard amenities are luxurious and extensive, including a helicopter, beach club area, beauty center, cinema-theatre, Jacuzzis, and a solarium on its teak decks. The vessel boasts oceanic navigation autonomy, can reach speeds of 24 knots, and is equipped with advanced features like geolocation anchoring and underwater lighting.

Born in White Plains, New York, Zuckerberg briefly attended Harvard College, where he launched Facebook in February 2004 with his roommates Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. Zuckerberg took the company public in May 2012 with majority shares. He became the world's youngest self-made billionaire in 2008, at age 23, and has consistently ranked among the world's wealthiest individuals. According to Forbes, Zuckerberg's estimated net worth stood at US$221.2 billion as of May 2025, making him the second-richest individual in the world.

Last year, Launchpad, became the latest megayacht to make its debut in Mallorca. The previous year, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos launched Koru, the largest sailing yacht in the world, measuring 127 meters (416 feet) in Palma. The Amazon founder and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, went on to sail the Mediterranean on the $500-million vessel. They too have been back in Mallorca and Ibiza this summer after their wedding in Venice.
